[ it seems successful enough. with the numbing, with his efforts to obscure her vision, she barely seems to notice. she's as relaxed as ever, in fact, smiling up at him as if nothing's happened.

her eye, of course, gives as easily as could be expected, and with no left eye to look through - bullet having grazed her forcefully enough that gleaning the specific extent of the damage in the flesh and fragments of bone around what's left of the socket is a little hard - she doesn't react to it being removed. ]
