Even if you know better, you're still worrying. Even if your mind knows it, your heart can still worry - one cannot stop the heart from feeling how it feels. It is, therefore, not unintelligent.

It doesn't bother me that you're worried. I expected this, and more than anything, you are right to worry.

With that cleared up, I think it's plain enough that this isn't wasteful, either.
